Games on the way to school

It so happened that the road to school took us about an hour. Us
had to get there by subway, and if on our branch suddenly
repair was started, it was necessary to go with transfers. initially
it was interesting to boys – they looked out the window and thought out
stories about the life of masters in the tunnel. Later we started to get tired of
trips, especially on the way home, and quarrels began. One day when
we sat in the subway car, I invited them to play – and since then we
tried many games. Long trips have become easier, to
the feeling that we are losing a lot of time for traveling (and
time is always so pitiful!) – in games it was possible to much
learn to.

Now I will describe some of our favorite games in which we
played and play (our children are 6 and 9 years old). They can be used and
for children of other ages.

Cities

This is probably the most famous game when the first player calls
some word (for example, “elephant”), the second comes up with the word,
starting with the last letter of the first word (for example,
�”Rhino”), the third need to say a word starting with the last
the letter of the second word (“pea”) and so on in a circle. The one who does not
manages to come up with a word, leaves the game, although usually words suffice
at all and play just until everyone is tired.

At the beginning of the game you need to agree that only
singular nouns diminutive words speak

comes up with a word starting with the penultimate letter. Letter “th”

Pay attention to the fact that we always remember how the word
is written, and not how it is pronounced – in the game, children will be imperceptible and
memorize the correct spelling of words.

Guess the number

This game is suitable for younger students who are just learning
think. The leading one makes a number from 1 to 100, and each player
trying to guess this number. To do this, the players in turn call
their numbers, and the driver says “more” or “less.”

For example, the driver makes the number 43. The first player says:
�”4″, the driver answers: “More.” The second player says: “82”
Leading says: “Less.” The first is now: “36”. Leading: “More.”
Second player: “40”. Leading: “More.” The first: “45”. Leading:
